Boyfriend jeans have been around for a few seasons now, and despite the groans of actual boyfriends everywhere (this is one trend men just don't seem to fully appreciate), the presence of the style only seems to be growing. This year, pretty much every major denim brand and retailer is offering an incarnation of the boyfriend jean (you'll find them at Gap, J. Crew, True Religion, Neiman Marcus, Lucky and more in Copley Place alone), so you shouldn't have a problem pinpointing a pair that works on you.

Still, the look can be tricky to pull off--the wrong top or accessories can take you from understated Lolita to lumberjack off duty pretty quickly. The key to pulling off the boyfriend jean look is to keep everything else tailored (but not fitted). Also: Wear heels, and always roll the jeans above your ankle.

Here, two ideas for what to pair with your favorite BF jeans.

For date night, pair your denim with a leather t-shirt, sky high booties and a delicate chain necklace for a look that's laid back but sexy.

1. Leather top, Robbi & Nikki, Neiman Marcus.

2. Necklace, David Yurman

3. Peep-toe Booties, BCBG

4. 1969 Destructed Sexy Boyfriend Jean, Gap

For weekend brunch or shopping, opt for casual boots, a cool tank and an espresso-colored leather jacket.

1. Leather Jacket, Vince

2. Contrast Stripe Booties, American Eagle

3. Fender Tank, Lucky Jeans

4. Brianna Boyfriend Jean, True Religion
