Great sunglasses are a must have for the summer months. Not only do they provide obvious protection from the sun, but they are a truly 'in your face' fashion accessory. On a recent shopping trip to the mall, my friend and I had some fun trying on the latest styles (if you want some laughs, be sure to do this with your girlfriends!). It's always a good idea to have a trusted shopping companion who will tell you which shapes are great, and which ones you should steer clear of. I suggest spending a little more on a classic pair that can take you season to season, and go for more affordable options for the trendier styles. This approach allows you to have several options to play with, depending on your mood and outfit.
With so many different shapes, styles and colors, you're guaranteed to find the perfect pair -- or pairs -- to suit your style and face! Here were a few key trends we liked!
- Cat Eye Sunglasses add a hint of sophistication mixed with a touch of playfulness. This style has been on trend for awhile, but this summer, it's updated in fun prints or colors like these from Kate Spade.
- Round shaped sunglasses can be considered a classic, but this season, you can play with the size and lens color. Gradient lenses take this style from classic to current.
- Unusual Shapes and Contrast Colors are for confident ladies who want to make a big, bold statement. Color blocking is a trend we saw on the runway, but you can also apply the trend to your shades. Expect to see unusual shapes or jewel-adorned beauties.
- Sporty Sunglasses are no longer just for athletes. They have become less about function and more about fashion. This trend is perfect for the fashionista with an active lifestyle.
